The main lobby area is a 40 foot high sky lit ceiling which illuminates the indoor gardens and lush Costa Rican hardwood interiors, decorated with hand painted murals. Upstairs the guest has the use of a private office center with free internet service and computer and printer as well as wireless service in most of the hotel public areas. A lovely library in the restaurant lounge area with many reference books as well as fiction books left by guests is a cozy spot to curl up and read.

The restaurant and bar area includes a comfortable lounge area with backgammon board and many games as well as a television with cable in the Bar Buho. The restaurant also includes a conference room with 12 chairs for the use of the guests when not in use for hotel meetings. The gardens include a large greenhouse, recycling center, vermiculture center and chicken coop where our 20 chickens lay eggs for our restaurant. We encourage you to visit them!

“All sorts of odd-shaped windows enhance the sun-filled house, which marries the adventuresome architectural spirit of Spain’s Gaudí with the open free-form design of the American southwest. A 40-foot high cathedral lounge sets the tone for the whitewashed stucco structure, its striking atrium dominated by a soaring, floral-motif beehive fireplace, masses of tropical plants, lustrous wood accents and vivid jungle murals painted by talented local artists. Eclectic adornments include an assortment of pre-Columbian artifacts, contemporary paintings/ wood sculptures, beautiful weavings and a host of unusual furnishings/art objects collected over the years by the Jampol family.”
